‘Heroes’ Takes a Twisted Turn
We’ve all heard the rumors about a hot lesbian action plot involving Claire and new found friend Gretchen on Heroes this season but we were never really given any proof about it. Now, NBC has released a promo picture that says it all.
While the photo below suggests that Heroes has jumped the shark, the timing of girl-on-girl action couldn’t be more perfect. The show has somewhat redeemed itself with more cohesive storylines, but has struggled with its ratings week after week since it kicked off its fourth season last month and has recently hit a new series low of 5.4 million viewers for its most recent episode, dropping off around 410,000 viewers compared to last week’s numbers.
According to the network, the upcoming episode of Heroes will see Hayden Panettiere’s character, Claire, “[discovering] that her roommate Gretchen may have a hidden agenda.” And that press release was accompanied by the image above. Oh and there’s also a possibility that a mysterious third person will get involved.
Does Claire really hook up with Gretchen? Whether or not this is just some sort of sexual experimentation, this controversially scene is likely to turn a few heads and maybe even attract new viewers.
Hate the kissing scene idea? Don’t blame the writers though because Panettiere reveals that she was the one who brought the lesbian plot to the fold.
“I kinda threw it out there,” Hayden Panettiere told the Daily Express. “The writers put you in relationships and I was like, ‘Can I just be with a girl or something? Let’s do that.’ So they took it and ran with it.”
Catch the lip-locking action in the Heroes episode “Hysterical Blindness,” airing Monday, October 12 on NBC.
